I have an interesting opinion about mythology. An important fact that increased slaughter of animals in the ancient world was mythology. Here are examples on slaughter of animals in mythology:

The story of Dushyant involves the savage slaughter of animals, from carcasses of tigers, lion, bears and wounded elephants with wounds that spout blood and worse. Dushyant loved hunting and slaughtered cruelly many animals and shot birds showing no compassion.

An important example is the story of the Khandava Forest destruction. The story goes like this:

The Kauravas divided the kingdom and gave the Pandavas the Khandava Prastha. In the Khandava Prastha was the Khandava Forest. Arjuna the Pandava and Krishna, king of Dwaraka wanted to destroy the forest. They asked for the help of Agni who gave them weapons and told them he also wanted to burn the Khandava Forest but Indra was always stopping him. Therefore, in a terrible fight, Krishna and Arjuna defeated the Devas and Krishna ordered Arjuna to kill all escaping animals cruelly, so that no one would challenge the riht to the place which was stupid as animals are 5 sensed.

Another story in Greek Mythology is the story of Orion.

Orion was a great hunter, who slayed animals brutally and cruelly for no apparent reason, worse than Dushyant, Krishna and Arjuna. He was so cruel that he once threatened to slay all life in the world. That was when Gaia, the earth goddess (one of the only omnibenevolent gods in mythology, besides Pashupatinath, Prajapati and a few others) protested and sent a giant scorpion to kill him. Now’s the good news: the scorpion succeeded.

I’m very excited about a 5 day continuous Madras Crocodile Bank Trust camp I’m going tomorrow. I’m going with my best friend R Adithya. It is held by Gerard Martin, a herpetologist. Since both me and R Adithya love all forms of zoology and cryptozoology, we’re going to have a lot of fun. We already went for a 2 day camp there and we loved it. We would go on a walk looking for snakes every morning, see the enrichment, which is an exercise for captive animals when they get food and therefore maintaining their health. There are two kinds of enrichment, good enrichment, which does not involve irritation to the animal but exercise and training and giving of food thus maintaining good health and bad enrichment which involves irritation to the animal and sometimes even abuse. We will be allowed to watch a female American Alligator (Alligator mississipiensis) named Allie who is inside the ‘No Entry Zone’ so that visitors do not irritate her. We will see the feeding of Jaws III, the largest Indian captive crocodile. He is a Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) and measures 14 ft long and weighs about 850 kilograms.

This is going to be an enjoyable camp!

2.) Typhon was a large humanoid creature that defeated even Zeus in battle. It was made of pure rage and managed to defeat all the Olympians except Athena. It was later sent to Tartarus by the bolt of Zeus.

In the SKST Camp, we learnt something called ‘The Ultimate Success Formula’, what many great people used. It goes like this:

Goals: You must have 1 goal no matter what happens. People will discourage you, but you must not give up the goal. Easier goals will come in the journey to get your goal, but you must not give up the 1 single goal of your life. So, decide now and don’t change it.

Strategy: You may have a goal, but you will not be able achieve it unless you have a strategy. If you fail (Get the feedback you didn’t want), you must change your strategy (I’ll explain it later in this post)

Action: Even if you have a good goal and a good strategy, what use will they be if you don’t take the action? And anyway, don’t delay taking action as is the success principle: “Do it now, Do it right, Do it fast”

Result: You know what is your result and you will definitely get it. If your result is = your goal, then success, but if not, there are 3 ways in which people react with failure:

1.) They give up, treat it as a failure and give excuses, blames and complaints.

2.) They continue doing it, and say it’s a PROBLEM, because they TRY and DON’T KNOW what to do (don’t use those words which are capital, TRY, PROBLEM and I DONT KNOW, since they effect your brain)

3.) They say “There are no failures, only feedback” and change their strategy, take action and get result

So, use the Ultimate Success Formula and if you don’t get the right result, deal with it in the 3rd way and BE A CHAMPION!

This is a common story known by most of us, The Rabbit & The Tortoise. Anyway, let me tell you it:

Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who is faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race. The hare ran fast for some time. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he’d sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race. He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race, emerging as the undisputed champ. The hare woke up and realised that he’d lost the race.

But, the moral was stupid: Slow & Steady Wins the Race

Maybe if you’re steady, but the person who made the moral might have had it in his mind that if you’re steady you’re slow: BUT THAT IS NOT RIGHT.

Being steady is good (Not changing your goal if an easier thing comes by), but you CAN be fast even if you’re steady. And also, the morals are these:

Fast & Steady Wins The Race

The Greatest Failure (Worst Feedback) In Life Is Not Participating 100%

Do it now, Do it right, Do it fast

I have been close to OS for a long time, and I was waiting for it. The camp was awesome & we learnt a lot of things including success principles etc. After I finished the camp, there were follow ups (They still go on) called Leadership Academy. Even the teachings their are cool. One day, there was this examination for the selection of Assistant Coaches for another Superbkids and Superbteens camp. I got selected. Being an A Coach was awesome. Me and my friend Mirthyun were the A Coaches of the youngest team, Knights. It was an amazing leadership experience for me.
