Mythology & Animal Bad Relation; Hindu, Greek Mythology
I have an interesting opinion about mythology. An important fact that increased slaughter of animals in the ancient world was mythology. Here are examples on slaughter of animals in mythology:
The story of Dushyant involves the savage slaughter of animals, from carcasses of tigers, lion, bears and wounded elephants with wounds that spout blood and worse. Dushyant loved hunting and slaughtered cruelly many animals and shot birds showing no compassion.
An important example is the story of the Khandava Forest destruction. The story goes like this:
The Kauravas divided the kingdom and gave the Pandavas the Khandava Prastha. In the Khandava Prastha was the Khandava Forest. Arjuna the Pandava and Krishna, king of Dwaraka wanted to destroy the forest. They asked for the help of Agni who gave them weapons and told them he also wanted to burn the Khandava Forest but Indra was always stopping him. Therefore, in a terrible fight, Krishna and Arjuna defeated the Devas and Krishna ordered Arjuna to kill all escaping animals cruelly, so that no one would challenge the riht to the place which was stupid as animals are 5 sensed.
Another story in Greek Mythology is the story of Orion.
Orion was a great hunter, who slayed animals brutally and cruelly for no apparent reason, worse than Dushyant, Krishna and Arjuna. He was so cruel that he once threatened to slay all life in the world. That was when Gaia, the earth goddess (one of the only omnibenevolent gods in mythology, besides Pashupatinath, Prajapati and a few others) protested and sent a giant scorpion to kill him. Now’s the good news: the scorpion succeeded.
